What is MIS Report?
- A MIS report is statistical yearly summary of an employer's drug and alcohol (if required by the regulator) test activity and test outcomes.
- Includes the annual number of
- regulated drug tests conducted
- reasons for conducted tests
- negative test results
- positive test results
- what drugs caused the positive results
- tests that were not completed due to specimen tampering, refusal to test or other issues
- The same type of information is required for the alcohol testing
- An example of a MIS report form can be seen at the US DOT website
- Is specific to a organization. A "MIS Report" for a consortium will not meet regulatory requirements.

When should I expect to receive my report?
Typically employers are required to submit reports by March 15 of the following year in question.
A MRO or TPA should supply your report before that deadline.
What do I do with a report that I receive from my TPA / MRO
- Keep it for any future inspections / audits
- Submit to the supervising agency / agencies as required
