Overview
This document contains help on features available from the Testing tab screen in Pulse.
The Testing tab is the main area for managing drug test results and can be found at the top of the Pulse system among the list of Tab areas.
Column Descriptions
The columns displayed in the drug test list and what they refer to.
Column | Description |
Donor | The donor first, middle and last name |
Donor Id | The donor Id provided on the chain of custody form |
Specimen Id | The specimen Id provided on the chain of custody form |
Panel Code | The panel code number used for testing from the lab |
Company | The company code for which the drug test was performed |
Reason | The reason the drug test was performed: Annual Follow Up Other Periodic Random Reasonable Suspicion Return to Duty |
Type | The type of sample collected: Urine |
Coll Code | The Location Code where the drug test was collected |
Collected Date | The date and time the collection was performed |
Created Date | The is the date when the first entry was made in Pulse. This could be the date the test was scheduled or collected status received or the date the lab result was received. |
Result | This is the Final Result reported in Pulse. This will remain In Progress until a final ruling is made. Cancelled Expired In Progress Invalid Lost Specimen Negative Negative Dilute Negative Safety Sensitive Positive Positive Dilute Refusal Refusal Adulterated Refusal Substituted Rejected |
Lab Result | This is the result received from the Lab: Negative Positive |
RegMode | The regulatory mode indicated on the drug test: Company (Non Regulated or DOT) DOD FAA FMCSA FRA FTA NASA NRC PHMSA USCG |
TPA Status | The TPA workflow status. This is adjusted as the drug test is processed through the appropriate workflow in Pulse. This option is only visible by Pulse administrators. Assigned to MROA Cancelled COC Received Collected Complete Expired Lost Specimen MRO Verified Rejected Scheduled Sent |
Status | The current status of the drug test and where it is in the process of resulting. Scheduled In Testing Collected At Lab Pending MRO Review Complete Cancelled Rejected Refused Expired |
Action | Pencil icon which is used to open the drug test details screen Download icon which will download the result report when completed |
Navigation
Searching
Use the search options listed under “Searching and filtering drug test list” for complete searching description.
Drug Test details
Select the pencil icon to open the drug test details screen.
Sorting list
Columns with an up and down arrow icon can be selected to sort by that column.
Paging through list
Use the control at the bottom of the list to move through the pages of result or change how many records show in the grid.
Searching or filtering drug test list
The drug testing list has a couple of different ways to search and filter data.
Search box
The search box located in the upper left of the drug test list screen will search the following fields Donor Name, Donor Id, and Specimen Id. The search box performs a partial search so entering 345 would find the specimen Id number 12345678.
The search box can also be used to search by company code. This will filter the list of result to a single company.
Selecting the magnifying glass without entering any result will show all drug tests sorted by the selected column.
Quick access buttons
The buttons located at the top of the list also filter the results. The buttons are different for a TPA or Admin than they are for a customer.
TPA filter buttons
Incomplete – show all drug tests that do not have a status of Complete except drug tests with a status of Scheduled, Expired and COC Received
Assigned to MROA – show all drug tests with a TPA Status of Assigned to MROA
Assigned to MRO – show all drug tests with a TPA Status of Assigned to MRO
Customer filter buttons
All – show all drug tests
Incomplete – show all drug tests that do not have a status of Complete except drug tests with a status of Scheduled, Expired and COC Received
Scheduled – show all Scheduled drug tests
Collected – show all Collected drug tests
MRO Review – show all test currently under MRO Review
Completed – show all Completed drug tests
Custom Search
The Custom Search option allows users to create there own combination of search criteria to apply to the Drug Test list screen.
Create a custom search
To create a custom search, select the Custom search option from the Menu dropdown. This will open the Custom Search Options window.
Enter a Name for your custom search and select the checkbox on the left to activate each type of search to enable for this custom search. Once you have completed selecting each filter option, select the Save button and close the window by selecting the X in the upper right of the window
To use your custom search filters, simply select them from the dropdown located next to the Menu. You can also begin typing the name of your search and it will filter the dropdown to match what you have typed.
Export drug test list
To export data from the drug test list to an excel spreadsheet, first view the data on the screen that you want to export using the search or filter options.
Change the number of records at the bottom of the list to 1000. This will display all the records in your list.
Select the checkbox in the upper left to select all records or check individual rows to export only a few records.
Once checked, select the Export Drug tests option from the Menu to export the selected records.
Compare Results
Compare results is used when you have 2 results for the same collection but the lab has sent two different results.
You can select the two drug tests from the list and select the Compare Result option from the Menu.
This will display a screen that compares the XML file between the two results and highlights the differences.
Reports
Authorization Form
You can view the authorization form after it is scheduled by selecting the checkbox on a scheduled test in the drug test list and selecting Authorization Form from the Menu.
MRO or Forensic Report
The MRO or Forensic is also available for download from the Action column on drug tests that are Complete.
